The Sciliar is considered a symbol of South Tyrol. A magic power radiates from this immense mountain, and already the Celts were aware of its mysterious charm and, therefore, built a place of worship on its summit. A fascinating hiking trail, which begins at the valley station of the lift Spitzbühl, takes you to Mount Sciliar. With the lift you may reach the first rise at an altitude of 1,929 meters. On the trails no. 5 and no. 1 you will reach the Sciliar House at around 2,450 meters above sea level. After a brief summit tour you have reached the highest point of the Sciliar and will enjoy a wonderful 360 degrees panoramic view during your hiking holidays in the Dolomites. From the highest peak of the Sciliar Massif you may admire stunning views of the Dolomites, such as the Catinaccio, the Corno Bianco, the Corno Nero, the Mendola, the Ortles, the Stubai Alps and the Ötztal Alps. On the way back you may choose the path across the Sesselschwaige, the romantic and wild gorge and the trail Prügelweg.
